အဂၤလိပ္စာ ေဝါဟာရအသုံးအႏႈန္းမ်ား အပုိင္း (၁) - "in, on, at"

• ·         ဒီပုိ႔စ္မွာေတာ့ In, On ႏွင့္ At ဆုိတဲ့ Prepositions of Place တုိ႔ကုိ ဘယ္လိုသုံးမလဲဆုိတာ ရွင္းျပေပးသြားမွာပါ။

• ·         အလြယ္ကူဆုံးအေနနဲ႔ ေအာက္ပါ ဥပမာကုိေလ့လာၾကည့္လိုက္ပါ။

·         He lives in Maubin. ဒီလိုမ်ဳိး ျမိဳ႕ေတြနဲ႔ တြဲျပီးသုံးပါတယ္။ He lives at Maubin. လို႔ သုံးရင္ မွားပါတယ္။

·         He lives on Pagoda Road. ဒီလမ္းမွာေတာ့ ေနတယ္။ အိမ္လိပ္စာ အတိအက်မဟုတ္ရင္ On ကုိသုံးပါတယ္။ He lives at Pagoda Road. လို႔ at နဲ႔သုံးရင္ မွားပါတယ္။

·         He lives at 44, Pagoda road. ဒီစာေၾကာင္းမွာဆုိရင္ တိက်တဲ့ေနရပ္လိပ္စာအတြက္ At ကုိသုံးပါတယ္။

·         အထက္ပါစာေၾကာင္းမွာ in, on နဲ႔ at တုိ႔ကုိ ဘယ္လုိသုံးတယ္ဆုိတာ ေလ့လာျပီးေနာက္ အေသးစိတ္ အသုံးျပဳပုံေတြကုိ ဆက္လက္ေလ့လာၾကည့္ရေအာင္ပါ။

At  ကုိေအာက္ပါ အေျခအေနေတြမွာ သုံးပါတယ္။

1) A specific point or place

• at the top of the stairs
• At the bottom of the stairs
• At the door

ဥပမာ ေၾကာင္ဟာ ျပတင္းေပါက္မွာ ရွိေနတယ္။ ေနရာအတိအက်န႔ဲ ေရးခ်င္၊ ေျပာခ်င္၊ ေဖာ္ျပခ်င္တယ္ဆုိရင္

The cat is at the window. ဆုိျပီး သုံးပါတယ္။ 

အလားတူပဲ ေလွခါးထိပ္မွာ သုိ႔မဟုတ္ ေလွခါးေအာက္ေျခမွာ သုိ႔မဟုတ္ တံခါးဝမွာ ရွိေနတယ္ဆုိရင္လည္း at ကုိသုံးပါတယ္။

ဥပမာ Somebody is at the door or at the end of the street.

2) An exact address

ေနရပ္လိပ္စာ အတိအက် သုိ႔မဟုတ္ အိမ္နံပါတ္ လမ္းအမည္တုိ႔ကုိ အတိအက်ေဖာ္ျပခ်င္ရင္ at ကုိ သုံးပါတယ္။

ဥပမာ ကြ်န္ေတာ့္ေနတဲ့အိမ္လိပ္စာက အမွတ္ ၄၄၊ ေက်ာင္းလမ္းဆုိရင္ at ကုိဒီလိုသုံးပါတယ္။

I live at No.44, Kyaung Street. လို႔သုံးပါတယ္။ in ဒါမဟုတ္ on ကုိ သုံးလို႔ရင္ မွားပါတယ္။ 

အိမ္အမွတ္ကုိ အတိအက်မေဖာ္ျပဘဲ လမ္းနံပါတ္အတြက္ပဲ at သုံးမယ္ဆုိရင္ မွားပါတယ္။ 

I live at Kyaung Street. လို႔ သုံးရင္မွားပါတယ္။ I live on Kyaung Street. လို႔သုံးမွ မွန္ပါတယ္။

3) Events

အစည္းအေဝးတစ္ခုခုတက္ေနတာမ်ဳိး၊ ပါတီပြဲတစ္ပြဲတက္ေနတာမ်ဳိး၊ ျပပြဲေရာက္ေနတာမ်ဳိးေတြဆုိလည္း At ကုိသုံးပါတယ္။

• At a party
• At the conference
• At the meeting
• At the concert

ဥပမာ He is at a party. Or She is at a meeting. Or I’m at a concert.

4) Buildings where an event or activity takes place

အစည္းအေဝးက်င္းပေနတဲ့ အေဆာက္အအုံးမွာ ေရာက္ေနတာမ်ဳိး၊ ျပပြဲက်င္းပတဲ့ အေဆာက္အအုံမွာ ရွိေနမ်ဳိးဆုိရင္လည္း At ကုိ သုံးပါတယ္။ ဥပမာ ရုပ္္္ရွင္ရုံထဲေရာက္ေနတာကုိ ေဖာ္ျပခ်င္ရင္ 

Kyaw Kyaw is at the cinema.

စာၾကည့္တုိက္ေရာက္ေနတယ္ဆုိရင္ 

He is at the library. Or He’s at the town hall. Or He’s at the police station. စသည္ျဖင့္ at ကုိ သုံးပါတယ္။

5) Somebody’s house

တစ္ဦးတစ္ေယာက္ရဲ့ အိမ္ကုိေရာက္ေနတာမ်ဳိးကုိေျပာခ်င္ရင္လည္း At ကုိသုံးပါတယ္။

• She is at her friend’s house.
• She lives at her parents’ house.

6) A stop on journey

ခရီးသြားစဥ္ ရပ္နားတဲ့ေနရာႏွင့္ပတ္သက္ျပီးေဖာ္ျပမယ္ဆုိရင္လည္း at ကုိသုံးပါတယ္။

We stopped at a nice village.

The train to Mandalay stops at Pyinmana.

7) Standard Expressions (တိက်တဲ့ Rule ရယ္လို႔သတ္မွတ္ထားတာမရွိပါဘူး။ သုံးေလ့သုံးထရွိတာမ်ဳိးပါ။)

ဒီလိုမ်ဳိး expressions ေတြမွာ at ကုိ သုံးပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမဲ့ “the” ကုိေတာ့ ထည့္မသုံးရပါဘူး။

• He is at school.
• He is at home.
• He is at university.
• He is at work.
• He is at reception.
• He is at church.

ေနာက္ထပ္ “On” ကုိေလ့လာၾကည့္ရေအာင္ပါ။

11)   For a surface

on the wall

on the ceiling

on the floor

on the blackboard

on the table

on the page စသည္ျဖင့္….

The photo is on the wall. It is on the table.

22)   Attached to

ယွဥ္တြဲေဖာ္ျပခ်င္တဲ့အခါမ်ဳိးမွာ “on” ကုိသုံးပါတယ္။ ဥပမာ

She is wearing a ring on her finger.

There are three apples on the tree.

33)   The coast/ river/ roads

Brighton is a town on the south coast of England.

London is on the river Thames. ဆုိလိုတာက London is next to the river Thames. လန္ဒန္ျမဳိ႕ဟာ သိမ္းျမစ္ေဘးမွာ ရွိေၾကာင္း ေဖာ္ျပခ်င္လို႔ on ကုိသုံးတာပါ။

He lives on Oxford Street. လိပ္စာကိုေဖာ္ျပတာပါ။ ဒါေပမဲ့ လမ္းနာမည္သာ ေဖာ္ျပျပီး အိမ္အမွတ္ အတိအက်ေဖာ္ျပထားျခင္းမရွိလို႔ On ကုိသုံးတာပါ။ “At” အပုိင္းမွာ ရွင္းျပေပးထားပါတယ္။

အခုေနာက္ဆုံး “in” အေၾကာင္း ဆက္ျပီးေလ့လာၾကပါမယ္။

11)   An enclosed space/ a large place with boundaries

နယ္နမိတ္၊ သတ္မွတ္ဧရိယာေတြမွာ ရွိေနတာမ်ဳိးကုိေဖာ္ျပမယ္ဆုိရင္ “in” ကုိသုံးပါတယ္။

in the bedroom

in the garden

in the carpark

e.g Mg Mg is playing in the garden.

He is in the bedroom or in his bedroom.

That car is in the carpark.

22)   Towns or Cities

He lives in Mandalay.

He lives in the village.

They are in Yangon to visit Shwedagon Pagoda.

33)   Standard expressions (တိက်တဲ့ Rule ရယ္လို႔သတ္မွတ္ထားတာမရွိပါဘူး။ သုံးေလ့သုံးထရွိတာမ်ဳိးပါ။)

Armchair အတြက္ ဆုိရင္ေတာ့ "in" သုံးျပီးေတာ့ လက္တင္မပါရွိတဲ့ ထုိင္ခုံမ်ဳိးဆုိရင္ "on" ကုိသုံးရပါမယ္။
